Hot Wheels Millennium Falcon Detail Paint

I was at Walmart the other day. and I saw a Hot Wheels Millenium Falcon from Star Wars: The Force Awakens.  It was in a two pack that also included a TIE fighter from the new movie.  It looked really good so I decided to buy it.

Just try out the box of these models looked really good.  There is a lot of detail in the molding on the Millenium Falcon, both top and bottom.  The two halves are held together with rivets.  There’s a clear display stand that you can wear on your finger.  The Millenium Falcon has some paint on it already: the blue thrusters in the back, some red markings on the body, and the windows on the cockpit are painted black.  The cockpit window on the TIE fighter has a silver frame.  The wings have gray panels on them.

The TIE fighter in The Force Awakens has been recolored.  They are now black with grey panels on the wings, where as, in the original series they were gray with black panels.  The Millenium Falcon also has some changes on it also for The Force Awakens.  It now has a square dish to replace the round one that broke off in Return of the Jedi.

While the toys look really great, the colors were kind of flat.  I knew that I could bring out a lot of details with a little bit of paint.  I took some black acrylic and filled in the panel lines on the Millenium Falcon.  I did the same thing for the texture of the panels on the TIE fighter.  Then I sprayed them with a clear coat.  Now you can see a lot more texture and detail on them.
